Welcome to Newport U3A's Home Page.
Welcome to Newport U3A’s website! We hope you have as much fun reading and using it as we had creating it!
If you are new to U3As in general, let me dispel one myth for you: membership has no age limits. You do not have to be a wrinkly, a TOG or hold a bus pass. The only stipulation is that you are not in full time employment. For other queries, we think we have a fairly comprehensive Frequently Asked Questions section but if you have a question that is not listed, then please Contact Us either using the page linked, or drop an e-mail to Webmaster@newportU3A.org.uk
What do we do? Briefly U3A is a self-funding organisation that promotes learning for enjoyment. Each local U3A is independent, autonomous and funded by subscription and membership fees. The different groups are led by enthusiasts rather than trained teachers - of course this is not mutually exclusive, and we are lucky enough to have some members who are both.
Where and when do we do it? We usually meet Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays at Shaftesbury Methodist Church, Shaftesbury Street, Newport, but there are some other groups, for instance Sunday Lunch and Saturday Walkers who meet outside these times. Click here to see the whole timetable of groups, convenors and contact numbers.

Swansea U3A have got in touch to say that they have a new website: www.u3aswansea.org.uk If you want to contact them, simply click the link, or paste the address into your web address bar.
Simply scroll your mouse over a topic on one of the tabs down the side of your screen to find out more. If you have any queries or questions then first of all please look at the FAQs, but if the answer isn’t there, then use the Contact Us page, or dro an e-mail to webmaster@newportu3a.org.uk
