Art
Convenor: Pat Matsuyama Morgan Phone: 01633 776293
Meetings: Wednesdays 10 - 12
We are a mixed group with over 15 members, some of whom had never put brush to paper before, whilst others have come along to improve their skills. We enjoy a relaxed and friendly atmosphere, without the pressure of exams, giving individuals the freedom to develop at their own pace. People can arrive or leave at any time between 10 and 12 and are under no obligation to turn up every week to complete a project.
This is an example of one member’s work. Margaret generally paints landscape or wildlife, but occasionally takes on the challenge of different styles.
Paints and pastels are available for people to try before buying their own equipment; also books and magazines for ideas and different techniques. Whether working from photographs, drawing a still life subject, or simply creating a blend of colours, members are often pleasantly surprised by their achievements.
. . .
Although not a qualified teacher, I have dabbled in art for most of my life and now wish to share the knowledge gathered from various sources & courses over the years. The watercolours of my Japanese grandfather were a strong influence in my earlier development.
