Convenor: Pat Matsuyama Morgan Phone: 01633 776293
Meetings: Wednesdays 10 - 12
We are a mixed group with 15 to 20 members, some of whom had never put brush to paper before, whilst others come along to improve their skills. We enjoy a relaxed and friendly atmosphere, without the pressure of exams, and this allows individuals the freedom to develop at their own pace. People can arrive or leave at any time between 10 and 12 and are under no obligation to turn up every week if they don’t wish to.
Watercolours, oils, pastels, pencils etc., are available for people to try before buying their own equipment; plus books and magazines for ideas and different techniques. Whether working from photographs, drawing a still life subject, or simply creating a blend of colours, members are often pleasantly surprised by their achievements.
. . .
Having dabbled in art for most of my life, I am now endeavouring to share the knowledge gathered from various sources & courses over the years. The watercolours of my Japanese grandfather were a strong influence in my earlier development.
It is a privilege to be following in the footsteps of Tom and Rosemary, under whose gentle guidance everyone has progressed so well. With the help of my assistant, Wendy, I am happy to take on the role of Convenor and confident that the group will continue to flourish.
