We enjoy a relaxed and friendly atmosphere, which enables individuals to develop their own style, at their own pace. Some of our members are complete beginners, whilst others have joined us in order to improve their skills.

There is a limited stock of materials for people to try before investing in their own equipment; also a selection of books and magazines are available for ideas and inspiration.

We currently show a video each month in which professional artists demonstrate their own particular techniques and pass on valuable tips for us to try.

Whether working from photographs, a still life subject, or from the imagination, we find the learning process both absorbing and very satisfying.

New members are always welcome. However, as our numbers reached 22 last autumn, our group has almost reached capacity and we may need to start a waiting list this year!

Although not a qualified teacher, I take pleasure in sharing the knowledge gathered from various sources over the years. The watercolours of my Japanese grandfather were a strong influence in my earlier development.
